Biography

Jan describes herself as always having been a historian who has both taught and researched for decades.  When diagnosed as an afibber nearly ten years ago Jan turned those research skills towards her new life.

As Vitamin K is a potent antidote to thinners, she began by researching the level of Vitamin K in common, and not so common, foods.  Her aim being to still meet the recommended daily amount of 90μg as she learnt that having too little is potentially just as bad as having too much. This set her a clear challenge to develop healthy meals that provide just the right amount of Vitamin K as well as meeting all the general nutritional needs of an otherwise healthy person.

Her readings are now stable and she only tests, on average, every three months.

This book is a collection of her journey; her research as well as nearly 100 recipes. Most importantly, this book is an embodiment of her desire is to inspire and empower fellow afibbers and people on thinners to, with their medical professional, take control of their own destiny.
